  3. Mini-Mooncakes for Mid-Autumn Festival

    • Social Department would like to wish every family a happy Mid-Autumn Festival. Some homemade mini-mooncakes have been prepared as a gift to each family of St. E’s for this coming Sunday. If you are not attending in-person service on Sunday Sep 4, but wish to receive a few, please contact Ophelia for possible alternate arrangements.

  7. Food Drive 2022

    • From September 11th, 2022 to October 2nd, 2022, please donate the currently most needed non-expired and non-perishable food for Mississauga Food Bank by bringing the food to the church (Peanut butter, canned beans, canned meat, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned soup, canned stew, fruit juice, flour, pasta, rice, cereal, Kraft dinner).

    • This year, we shall have a pilot Neighbours Help Neighbours Food Drive by delivering (Sept 18th)  and collecting (Sept 25th) brown grocery bags to and from a nearby small neighbourhood of about 150 families. We are hoping by reaching out to the community, we can help out our society better.  This food drive enables us to serve while celebrating our church's 30th anniversary. In the meantime, it's just in time to meet the high food demand around the Thanksgiving Holiday.

  8. Cantonese Bible Study and Cantonese Prayer Group

    • The Cantonese Bible Study and Cantonese Prayer Group will resume their meetings in September. We will continue to meet online via Zoom.

    • As before, our Bible Study group will meet on the second, third and the fourth Thursday of the month from 7pm to 8:30pm.

    • And  our prayer meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesday of the month, from 8:00 to 8:45pm

  9. Reopening of the church library

    • The church library, which has been closed for the past two years due to the pandemic, will be reopened effective September 4, 2022. Details are as follows:

      • The library will be opened to all parishioners of St Elizabeth’s from 10 am to 1 pm on Sundays.

      • Parishioners can borrow books from the library following the Self-Serve Guidelines posted in the library.

      • Due to limitations of space and manpower, we are unable to accept donations of books at present.

  10. St. John's Anglican Church (Willowdale) hosting a Cantonese Webinar

  11. Time capsule item collection

    • This year, we are celebrating St. Elizabeth’s 30th Anniversary, in order to honour the history of our church, we shall set a Time Capsule that highlights the continued mission of St. E, to bring people from all walks of life together for spiritual comfort, challenge and direction. We are planning to collect 30 items that will be put inside the capsule and buried in the ground next to a planting tree on Sunday, October 2nd. Now, we are asking our church parishioners to participate and share some of your private collections if possible.

    • Proposed a list of items to consider:

      • Recent Sunday bulletins - Include a copy of our most recent service bulletins and announcement - Sun Oct 2nd.

      • Anniversary memorabilia of significant milestones,e.g 25th 20th and older

      • Memorable items from the fire, e.g. half burnt Bibles.

      • Photos of significant events with captions over the past 30 years.

      • Our 30th Anniversary tote bag & pen.

      • Our existing St. E's organization chart.

      • A copy of the recent annual newsletters.

    • From August 15th - 28th, If you have any other suggestions or items that can be shared, please feel free to Tali Wong or email cmchair@stechurch.com.

  13. Photo Sharing Session - Stories in Photos

    • The outreach team will hold a photo sharing session on Saturday, September 17, from 2pm to 4pm at St. E. The theme is Stories in Photos. It is an honor to invite Mr. Andy Chan, a retired veteran photographer, to share his photography experience. The content includes sharing skills, discussing works, and answering questions. All interested parishioners are welcome to participate. It will be shared in Cantonese. For enquiries, please contact Annie Chan directly or email cameraclub@stechurch.com.
