Our dear parishioner Michael Ning's father, Joseph Ning, peacefully passed away at the hospital, embraced by his beloved family, on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024. May the peace of our Lord be with Joseph and his family at this difficult time. Please keep them in your prayers.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Highland Funeral Home - Scarborough Chapel, located at 3280 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Following the visitation, the funeral service will commence at noon.

Easter Food Drive
This year's Easter Food Drive, we have collected a total of 350.6 lbs of food, 138 lbs donated by our parishioners and 212.6 lbs by our neighbours. Same as last year, we have delivered all the collected food to the nearby Mississauga Fire Station #118 located at 1045 Bristol Road West for Food Bank Mississauga to collect last Sunday, Mar 24th.

Easter Food Drive
Let us pray to our Lord to help our neighbours through this year's Easter Food Drive. From Mar 10 to 24, please donate non-expired and non-perishable food for Mississauga Food Bank by bringing the food to St. E (Peanut butter, cooking oil, pasta sauce, fruit Juice boxes, canned beans, canned meat, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned soup, canned stew, flour, pasta, rice, cereal, Kraft dinner).
In the meantime, we shall continue reaching out to the community for their help to our society through our “Neighbours Help Neighbours” program. On Mar 17, we shall deliver brown bags to a selected nearby neighbourhood and collect the donated food on March 24. For those who are interested in helping out delivering and picking up the brown bags, don't hesitate to get in touch with info@stechurch.com

Our dear parishioner Alfred Chiu, father of Amy, peacefully departed at Markham Stouffville Hospital, embraced by his beloved family, on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the age of 74. May the peace of our Lord be with Alfred and his family at this difficult time. Please keep them in your prayers.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel, located at 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga, on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Following the visitation, a memorial chapel service will commence at 3:00 p.m.
To honour his memory and celebrate his life, a reception dinner will be held at Summit Garden Chinese Cuisine, at 3015 Winston Churchill Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5L 2V8, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Donations in loving memory may be made to St. Elizabeth’s Anglican Church, All Saints’ Anglican Church or Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.

Learning the Liturgy in Ten Minutes
In order to encourage everyone to understand the Anglican liturgy and appreciate the meaning and tradition of the liturgy, a series of liturgical sessions are now being arranged.
The second series will be held on February 4, 18, and 25.
After every Sunday service, brothers and sisters are invited to attend and stay for ten minutes, Rev. Leung will explain the Anglican liturgy and give some demonstrations.

THIS SUNDAY February 11 after the JOINT English & Cantonese Holy Communion service, we will celebrate the Lunar New Year at St. E’s with lunch fellowship
The parish invites parishioners to celebrate together by coming to Church in traditional cultural attires if you prefer.

English Prayer Group Next Meeting
Due to Ash Wednesday Cantonese Evening Prayer Service, the regular English Prayer Group Meeting on Feb 14 will be cancelled.

Cantonese Bible Study Group
There will be NO Cantonese Bible Study Group from February to March this year so that parishioners can concentrate on participating in spiritual activities during Lent. The next meeting of the Cantonese Bible Study Group will be held on Thursday, April 11 this year at 7pm
Singing “Lord Have Mercy”
During communion services in Lent, we will be singing (instead of reading) “Lord Have Mercy”. Here is the YouTube link for the tune that we will use. It is a beautiful piece that will give us time to reflect. We encourage everyone to listen to it at home before February 18, so we can sing it together on that day.

Learning the Liturgy in Ten Minutes
In order to encourage everyone to understand the Anglican liturgy and appreciate the meaning and tradition of the liturgy, a series of liturgical sessions are now being arranged.
The second series will be held on February 4, 18, and 25.
After every Sunday service, brothers and sisters are invited to attend and stay for ten minutes, Rev. Leung will explain the Anglican liturgy and give some demonstrations.

Cantonese Faith Formation Ministry Lent Devotional Activities
In the church calendar, the forty days before Easter (not including Sunday) are Lent. This year, the first day of Lent (Ash Wednesday) will be February 14. Lent is an important period for Christians to reflect on their lives, especially their relationship with God, with the purpose of preparing ourselves to remember the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
This year, the Faith Formation Ministry invites everyone to read the Chinese translated version of the book "Introducing the Christian Faith" by Michael Ramsey, who was the 100th Archbishop of Canterbury. This book discusses the Christian faith from simple to profound through eight chapters, leading everyone to reflect on faith, change their perspective, and thereby understand the power of God.
This year’s Cantonese Lent Devotional meetings will be held in via ZOOM and led by Rev. Leung. St. E Members are welcome to attend. Please contact Margaret Loo or email rsvp@stechurch.com. Our church will order books on your behalf and arrange to attend six relevant lectures and group discussions.

Liturgy of Burning of Palm Leaves THIS SUNDAY at end of Cantonese Service
We will hold a special liturgy for the burning of palm leaves at the end of Cantonese service, before the Liturgy in 10 Minutes.
If you have palm crosses saved from previous year, you can bring them back and it will be burned to make the ashes for Ash Wednesday

Installation of Honorary Canons
The new honorary canons of St. James Cathedral will be installed at the cathedral NEXT Sunday, Jan. 21 at 4:30 p.m.
The Rev. Canon Kevin Wong, All Saints, Markham will be installed at this service

Celebration of New Ministry for Rev. Siu Chun Leung at 4pm on Sun Jan 28, 2024 at St. E
We invite you to join us at St. E on Sun. Jan 28 at 4pm as we will hold the Celebration of New Ministry service for Rev. Leung.
Our archdeacon, The Ven. Steven Mackison will be coming to St. E as celebrant.
Rev. Canon Simon Li will be preaching at that service.
Rev. Canon Susan Climo, Regional Dean of our Mississauga Deanery will also be attending
Cantonese Faith Formation Ministry Lent Devotional Activities
In the church calendar, the forty days before Easter (not including Sunday) are Lent. This year, the first day of Lent (Ash Wednesday) will be February 14. Lent is an important period for Christians to reflect on their lives, especially their relationship with God, with the purpose of preparing ourselves to remember the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
This year, the Faith Formation Ministry invites everyone to read the Chinese translated version of the book "Introducing the Christian Faith" by Michael Ramsey, who was the 100th Archbishop of Canterbury. This book discusses the Christian faith from simple to profound through eight chapters, leading everyone to reflect on faith, change their perspective, and thereby understand the power of God.
This year’s Cantonese Lent Devotional meetings will be held in via ZOOM and led by Rev. Leung. St. E Members are welcome to attend. Please contact Margaret Loo or email rsvp@stechurch.com. Our church will order books on your behalf and arrange to attend six relevant lectures and group discussions.
