Important Call (Mississauga Deanery)
800 members of the Deer Lake First Nation (located in northern Ontario near the Manitoba-Ontario border) have been evacuated due to forest fires and are staying in hotels in the Mississauga area. Serena Kenny, who works with the Kenora Chiefs Organization office, is in town helping to coordinate support.
Message from Serena:
"Some of the small things that have brought a lot of comfort. Items needed:
1. New underwear, bras, and socks (all ages and sizes)
2. Empty backpacks and duffel bags – many evacuees left with nothing, and will need a way to carry items home when it’s time to return
3. Fresh homemade baked goods – this was a request from Elders, who deeply miss the comfort of home-baked treats and tea while staying in hotels where meals come from frozen catering boxes
Items can be dropped off at the Embassy Hotel near Pearson Airport (262 Carlingview Drive, Toronto).
We’re also looking for help with evening activities for evacuees. If you or anyone on your network would like to help in any way whether through donations, volunteering, or outreach we would be so grateful. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need more details."
People could contact Serena directly; her cell phone number is 807-464-3064.

June 22 Start Cantonese Service Time Change to 11:30am
To create space and time for fellowship between Chinese and English congregations, and to welcome newcomers, our parish plans to change the Cantonese Service time to 11:30 AM starting from June 22 (the second Sunday of Pentecost). There will be light refreshments available between the two services for church members and guests.
Property Management Notice
Thanks to all who volunteered to help with gardening and clean up on Saturday.
Next scheduled for the following dates:

(Remark: If it rains that day, it will be postponed to next Saturday.)
Items can be dropped off at the Embassy Hotel near Pearson Airport
(262 Carlingview Drive, Toronto).
Cantonese Faith Formation Ministry - 2025 Advent Book Study
Cantonese Faith Formation Ministry plans to read "Six Marks of Discipleship" written by the Revd Dr John L Kater, a retired American theology professor and guest lecturer of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Ming Wah Theological Seminary.

As it takes time to purchase overseas books, brothers and sisters who are interested in participating and wish to purchase the book should notify Margaret Loo before June 25, or email rsvp@stechurch.com. The book, including postage and tax, costs about $18 CAD.

Change Cantonese Service Start Time
To create space and time for fellowship between Chinese and English congregations, and to welcome newcomers, our parish plans to change the Cantonese Service time to 11:30 AM starting from June 22 (the second Sunday after Pentecost). There will be light refreshments available between the two services for church members and guests.
From now until May 31, Rev. Leung will collect feedback on this time change. Brothers and sisters can meet with Rev. Leung to discuss and understand the needs of our parish.
