Garage Sale and Fundraising (St Elizabeth’s Anglican Church and Carefirst Joint Program)

  • All proceeds will be donated to St. E church and Carefirst.

  • Collection of household goods: Sept 16-18 (Monday to Wednesday)

  • Sunday School will have walking trips to Father Angelos Saad Community Park on July 14th, July 28th and Aug 11th.

  • All Sunday School children must have a signed permission form to participate. Children under 4 and children without signed permission from parents/guardians must be accompanied by an adult to join.

  • Please bring sun hats, sunscreen, water, a change of clothes and a towel for the walking trips. We may play at the splash pad if the weather is warm.

  • If your child does not attend our Sunday School on a regular basis, please bring him/her to the Sunday School room in person and check in with the teacher before dropping him/her off.

  • The Bible Study Group of the Cantonese Ministry will be taking a summer break for the months of August and September. You are invited to join our next meeting, which will be on Thursday October 10 at 7 pm. Rev Leung will be leading us to study the book of Ezekiel.  Please contact Margaret Loo for details.

Cantonese Tuesday Evening Prayer Meeting – Summer Break

Rev. Canon Edmund Der & Mrs. Margaret Der Hosting a Cantonese Sharing

  • Topic: Healthy Living for the Middle-aged & Seniors

  • Canon Edmund at age 88 is still enthusiastically and tirelessly serving the Lord and His people with his wife, Margaret, who has supported him throughout the years. St. John’s Anglican Church has invited them to share their experiences in living healthy and active lives. All are welcome and invited to attend.

Cantonese Faith Formation – Advent Book Study

  • This year Cantonese Faith Formation ministry has chosen to read the Chinese translated version of “The Dwelling of the Light: Praying with Icons of Christ” by Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury.  Cantonese Advent Book Study will be held 4 consecutive Thursdays from Nov 28 to Dec 19 from 7pm-8:30pm through Zoom. Details will be communicated later. As books need time to be shipped from oversees, orders to purchase need to placed in advance. If you are interested, please place your order with Margaret Loo or email rsvp@stechurch.com by July 21. Cost of book including shipping will come to approximately $15CAD each.

    o    With your sincere prayers, we are grateful and excited to announce to everyone that the “St. E Community Garden" project has received the support of the diocese with a grant of $5,000

    o    The first phase of the project will begin within a few days. We hope to provide fresh vegetables to those in need in the community in the future.

We will be using the same zoom link as the Wednesday night Prayer Meeting. The book study will take place twice a month with follow-up discussions on a WhatsApp Chat group.

    • There will be NO Cantonese Bible Study Group from February to March this year so that parishioners can concentrate on participating in spiritual activities during Lent. The next meeting of the Cantonese Bible Study Group will be held on Thursday, April 11 this year at 7pm
